C. Sub-committee on Teachers’ The SCTPD makes recommendations to COTAP on –
Professional Development (a) the present and forecast professional
(SCTPD) development needs of teachers and relevant
school personnel in the light of changing
The Sub-committee on Teachers’ Professional societal needs and expectations, global
Development (SCTPD) is set up under COTAP educational developments and related research
to advise on policies and measures relating and evaluation findings;
to the professional development of teachers (b) strategies and ways to develop, implement
at different stages, including novice and and evaluate an analytical framework for the
experienced teachers and relevant school competencies of frontline teachers at various
personnel, with a view to promoting teaching stages of their professional development, with a
excellence and professional growth. view to providing an effective guide for teachers’
self-reflection and professional growth, as well
as for schools’ planning for teachers’ continuing
professional development (CPD);
(c) ways to promote and review teacher induction
to enhance and sustain support for novice
teachers;
(d) ways to facilitate teachers’ CPD and nurture
the reflective practice of teachers and relevant
school personnel;
(e) the progress of teachers’ CPD with a view
to promoting teaching excellence and the
professional growth of teachers;
