Sub-committees
At present, three Sub-committees are set up under COTAP. Other Sub-committees may also be set up as and when needs arise. To help perform the functions, the Sub-committees can co-opt members or form working/focus groups when necessary.
Below are the broad functions of the three Sub-committees under COTAP:
Sub-committee on Initial Teacher Education (SCITE) | |
The SCITE is set up under COTAP to advise on policies and measures relating to initial teacher education programmes and provide a platform for regular professional exchanges with Teacher Education Institutions and the school sector. | |
Sub-committee on Teachers’ Professional Development (SCTPD) | |
The SCTPD is set up under COTAP to advise on policies and measures relating to the professional development of teachers at different stages, including novice and experienced teachers as well as relevant school personnel, with a view to promoting teaching excellence and professional growth of teachers. | |
Sub-committee on School Leadership (SCSL) | |
The SCSL is set up under COTAP to advise on policies and measures relating to the professional development of serving principals, newly-appointed principals, aspiring principals, including vice-principals and middle managers, and members of School Management Committee / Incorporated Management Committee, with a view to developing school leadership and enhancing the quality of school education. |
